PUBlicIMAGenING event focusing on City as a Lab, a venue for dynamic interactions of assumed and unknown, protective and invasive, mediated and un-accessible…

Session will feature a dialogue between artist Michelle Teran and academic Bas Van Heur, on topics of:  trans-disciplinary work, positions of critique and engagement within a public sphere

including reference to their recent work, theoretical descourses and polemics around cities (un)visible media (infra)structures.

This discussion is part of an ongoing research exchange within PUBlicIMAGenING , a research project initiated by Željko Blaće on the topic of visual mediation and civic engagement with urban space. Its aims are set: to articulate proactive discourse in theoretical research and examine and test strategies of engagement with public in event series. Its production aspect is set in speculative design of open, participatory and distributed media system prototypes that operate as tools for systemic visual observation of urban spaces and utilizing their visual outputs…
